Networked Constructions

Our contribution to the Couched Constructions exhibit at the Herron Gallery in Indianapolis considers the systemic and networked relationships that conspire around translations of several AtFAB pieces. Versions of the 90 Minute Lounge Chair and Silver Lining Bed accompany the Cellular Screen. We invite visitors to assume the role of a maker, by fabricating the Silver Lining Chaise from its downloadable cut file. Like AtFAB, these objects are CNC milled from any sheet material and then intuitively assembled and fastened. We endeavored to make these objects greater than mere consumer goods, by enmeshing them into larger material, social and fabrication networks that would place them more deeply into our lives and everything around us.
